The Chemistry Students’ Union (CSU) is a University of Toronto students’ union that represents the interests of all undergraduate students who take a course offered by the Department of Chemistry and it is bound by the CSU constitution.
ChemClub is a students’ union for graduate students in the Department of Chemistry and the CSU often collaborate with them in terms of running events. ChemClub also run the store where you should purchase lab manuals for some courses.
The CSU not only holds many academic and social events but it also acts as your representative to the Department of Chemistry. The CSU is also responsible for providing reliable information on Chemistry courses, based on the comments written on the questionnaire handed out towards the end of your course, to the annual ASSU Anti-Calendar. Feel free to contact us at csu@chem.utoronto.ca for help and information; confidentiality guaranteed.
You can get involved by coming to our events. There are also a limited number of special ‘Department of Chemistry’ hoodies left over from a couple of years ago. There are only sizes L and XL remaining. They are priced at $30 and if you are interested in purchasing one please send us an email and tell us a convenient collection time from Lash Miller.
We are unable to sell past tests. However, there are some available online at the UofT Library website: “Exams and Course Collections“, and ASSU has a past test library – which is made available for copying in their office. Another service which you may find useful is Victoria College’s tutoring programme, which is run from the Undergraduate Lounge in Lash Miller.
